ST. Ezekiel Elliott Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Alfonso Soriano used his legs to help produce a key run for the New York Yankees. Curtis Granderson drove in Soriano with a sacrifice fly in the 11th inning and the Yankees avoided a three-game sweep by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 on Sunday. Soriano started the winning rally with a one-out double off Jamey Wright (2-2). He stole third and came home on Grandersons fly ball to centre. "He ends up getting himself safe at third and now the situation changes," Granderson said. "I just have to get a ball to the outfield." Yankees manager Joe Girardi gave Soriano the green light to steal. "If its no outs you cant do that," Girardi said. "But with one out, were taking a chance trying to make it easier on Grandy." Soriano stumbled on his way to third. "Being the DH, my leg is not loose 100 per cent," Soriano said. "My mind is 100 per cent, but legs are not." Mariano Rivera, making his last regular-season appearance at Tropicana Field, received a standing ovation before getting the final three outs for his 38th save. The closer is planning to retire after this season. Rivera has 37 saves at Tropicana Field, the most by any opponent. Second on the list is Jonathan Papelbon with 10. Rivera has converted 64 of 66 save opportunities overall against Tampa Bay. Boone Logan (4-2) got two outs for the win. Pinch hitter Alex Rodriguez opened the 10th with a single to centre off Wright and went to second on Brett Gardners sacrifice. Rodriguez then was doubled off second after Wright grabbed a line drive by Ichiro Suzuki that appeared headed toward centre field. Rodriguez, who is appealing his 211-game suspension by Major League Baseball, was booed every time he came to the plate during the series. He went 2 for 9 with two strikeouts. Girardi had the third baseman on the bench at the start of the series finale, due to a day game after a night game. Rodriguez didnt make his season debut until Aug. 5 after having off-season hip surgery. Evan Longoria homered and drove in two runs for the Rays. "We just cant permit the stolen base at third base," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "Thats really what caused the win for them." New York got a homer and two RBIs from Robinson Cano. Longoria and Cano went back and forth for much of the game before Granderson delivered his key sacrifice fly. Longoria put the Rays up 1-0 with an RBI single in the first. Yankees starter Ivan Nova avoided further damage by getting an inning-ending double play from James Loney with the bases loaded. Cano then hit an opposite-field homer to left in the fourth and a tiebreaking RBI double against Alex Cobb in the sixth. He was easily thrown out attempting to stretch the hit into a triple. Longoria responded with his 28th homer in the bottom half. Nova allowed six hits and tied a career high with six walks in 6 2-3 innings. Cobb gave up seven hits over 5 2-3 innings. It was the right-handers third start -- the other two were victories -- after missing two months after being struck in the head by a liner hit by Kansas Citys Eric Hosmer on June 15. "Two victories and a chance to sweep, you want to step on their throat and finish them off," Cobb said. NOTES: The Yankees plan to activate SS Derek Jeter (strained right calf) from the disabled list for Mondays game at Toronto. ... Tampa Bay All-Star LHP Matt Moore (sore left elbow) is scheduled to pitch in a minor league game Thursday and could rejoin the rotation next week. .... ... The announced crowd was 34,078, which was just the Rays third home sellout this season. Byron Jones Jersey . Showing more spark after not taking enough challenging shots on goal in their 1-0 loss Friday night, the Bruins had 18 shots in the first period after managing just 25 in the entire opener. Luke Glendening cut Bostons lead to 2-1 at 13:20 of the second period before Milan Lucic scored late in the second and Zdeno Chara added a power-play goal early in the third. Darren McFadden Jersey . Both sides came closest to scoring in the first half, when Roma had a goal from Mattia Destro waved off for offside and Inters Rodrigo Palacio headed high. "A draw was a fair result. Neither squad had many chances," Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic said. http://www.shoptheofficialcowboys.com/Elite-Chris-Jones-Cowboys-Jersey/ .J. -- Tom Coughlin doesnt have many options at halfback for the winless New York Giants.SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Rudy Gay said he didnt harbour a sense of revenge Wednesday night facing his former team -- the Toronto Raptors-- for the first time since a December trade. His numbers said it all. DeMarcus Cousins had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Gay added 24 points and 10 rebounds, and the Kings held off the Raptors in the fourth quarter for a 109-101 victory. The Dec. 9 trade brought Gay, Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray to Sacramento in exchange for Patterson, John Salmons, Greivis Vasquez and Chuck Hayes. The trade has worked well for both teams. Since the shake-up, the Raptors have compiled an 18-11 record and own the third best overall record in the Eastern Conference. They had an 8-12 mark before the deal. Gay has thrived in his role as a key figure offensively. The versatile forward has averaged 20.7 points and shot 53 per cent in his first 25 games with the Kings. Gay wasnt nearly as effective with the Raptors, shooting just under 39 per cent in his second season in Toronto. "It was great to see Rudy have such a successful game tonight," said Gray, who didnt play. "No matter what the scenario, its really important when you go against your ex-team. You always want to show them what theyre missing. I think Rudy did that." Toronto coach Dwane Casey wished his team was a little more focused on effort rather than the socializing that took place between the two teams. "I just thought our whole disposition was off. Were out there hugging and giving out fives and all that," Casey said. "Well, this is a business. I didnt think our disposition at the beginning of the game was in fighting mode or hungry mode. We havent done anything, Ill keep repeating this, we havent done anything in this league yet." The Kings led by 20 points going into the final quarter, when Toronto got going offensively and cut the lead to five points with under a minute to play. But the Kings conveerted six consecutive free throws in the final minute to seal their second straight victory after losing seven straight. Tony Dorsett Jersey. "I think we kept our composure, were very poised down the stretch, and came out with a good home victory," Cousins said. Kyle Lowry had 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Raptors, who had won four of their last five. Demar DeRozan scored 18 points, Patrick Patterson 14 and Steve Novak 12, all in the fourth quarter. DeRozan, who entered the game averaging 22 points, shot 5 of 17. He added six rebounds and four assists. Novak played only 34 seconds through three quarters, but in the fourth he hit three three-pointers, helping the Raptors outscore the Kings 29-17. "The game was bizarre; we made it interesting," Kings coach Michael Malone said. "Im glad they didnt play Steve Novak more or it would have been a long night." Isaiah Thomas added 23 points for the Kings and guard Marcus Thornton had 12, all in the first half. Thornton hit the floor hard at the offensive end late in the second quarter and didnt return. He bruised hip and knee in the fall, but X-rays were negative. He may get an MRI on Thursday. New NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who took over for David Stern on Saturday as the leagues fifth commissioner, attended the game. He drew a standing ovation when he was introduced to the sellout crowd Before the game, Silver toured Sacramentos planned downtown arena and sat with the Kings new ownership group during a portion of the game. NOTES: The Kings played without reserve forward Derrick Williams, who was out with a strained right foot. ... Despite shooting 37.5 per cent in the first quarter, Sacramento still led 30-23. ... Lowry was called for a technical midway through the second quarter. ... Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, a former NBA star, sat courtside with William Bell, the mayor of Birmingham, Ala.
